Lincoln Journal reports "Carroll School Goes Green" with SmartSpace

January 07, 2007—In an interview with Steve Wilkins, head of the Carroll School in Lincoln, MA, the Lincoln Journal reported that the space not only provides the school much needed tutoring space that allows for one-on-one meetings, but also teaches students about energy-saving and environmentally friendly possibilities and fits with the mission of the surrounding rural community. The choice of a green, modular classroom space is part of a larger goal to make environmentally friendly, energy-saving decisions on campus. Wilkins said going with a modular building that optimizes use of natural lighting and provides better air quality and acoustics to the students and staff who use it appeals to him as an educator. One student seems to agree. While studying in the new space he remarked, “This is definitely better.”
